Terry Caruthers

After a career in information technology and a background in mathematics and physics, Terry Caruthers discovered painting at age 77. In her first class at Mooresville Arts, her instructor paraphrased Claude Monet: “Don’t try to draw—just paint the color you see.” The advice resonated with Terry’s lifelong love of color and gave her the confidence to paint. Soon afterward, an Impressionist painting of flowers in a blue-and-white chinoiserie vase sparked an immediate connection and revealed her artistic voice. Today, Terry’s paintings celebrate the timeless elegance of blue-and-white porcelain overflowing with vibrant flowers, capturing the beauty of color, light, and joyful abundance.
